Melissa is passionate about incorporating the arts in everyday life. As a working musician, Sites teaches and performs in and around Greenbelt and College Park. Sites is also a writer, working in poetry, fiction and non-fiction, and currently reports for the Greenbelt News Review. Since coming to work for College Park Arts Exchange in 2005, Sites has expanded CPAE programs to over 150 events annually, serving over 7000 individuals. With wide-ranging interests across the arts and humanities, Sites holds a BA from Hollins College in English and Music, and an MFA in poetry, Women’s Studies Certificate, and PhD in English Literature from the University of Maryland. An ordained Episcopal Deacon, Sites has completed the EfM Theology extension program and the Contemplation and Creation Care certificate from Sewanee, and enjoys studying Biblical Hebrew.
