Scottish Small Pipe Session
A Scottish Small Pipe Session is a chance for a variety of instruments to join in and play and share tunes which can be Scottish, Irish, Old Time, etc. The emphasis is on learning and sharing tunes which sound nice on the Small Pipes. The chanter plays ” A mixolydian scale” with drones tuned to A or D. Instruments which are commonly played with the Small Pipes are fiddle, guitar, bodhran, flute, hammer dulcimer, cello, and even banjo and mandolin. The public is welcome to join in and play along on tunes, without manuscript, or to enjoy the music by listening. Led by Robert Mitchell.
