Sarod and Tabla Jugalbandi Concert

On Friday September 13, the College Park Arts Exchange is arranging a Sarod and Tabla concert, featuring two Sarods and two Tablas. Soumya Chakraverty will share the stage with Abir Hussain, who is visiting from India.  On the Tabla, we will have  Shri Debu Nayak along with Mallar Goswami.

Abir is a brilliant Sarodia from Senia-Shahjahanpur Gharana.  He is a disciple of Pandit Buddhadev Dasgupta and also Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty.  He is a Guru of instrumental music at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy.   You can find more details about his background on: https://sarodia.com/generation/abir-hussain/.  He is visiting the region after a gap of 7 years.  Here is a clip from a concert together in 2017: https://youtu.be/12J_ELKf4hQ.
