College Park Chorale Celebrates Fifth Season!
The College Park Chorale will celebrate its fifth year with a concert on Sunday, May 19th, at the University of Maryland Chapel. The Chorale started in 2013 with a group of 15 singers and has grown to over 50 members. The choir prides itself on being a welcoming, inclusive, fun group that sings a wide variety of music. Concerts often include pieces from different time periods, countries and musical genera. The fifth anniversary concert will feature songs that highlight the joy of singing, both sublime and silly! Themes include how singing creates connections, helps us through hard times, is a spiritual practice, and is just plain fun! In addition to music by Randall Thompson, Dan Gawthrop, Alice Parker, Bruce Springsteen and Ysaye Barnwell, the Chorale will reprise Bohemian Rhapsody, which was presented on the very first concert in 2014, complete with soloists and a backing band!
