Half-day writing retreat with Mary Amato and John Feffer

Whether you’re writing a novel, newspaper article, essay, or play, you have to tell a good story. There’s an art to story-telling, to shaping your material in a way that’s engaging and satisfying. In this mini-retreat, two professional writers will give you pointers on how to set the stage, hold your readers, and deliver the goods at the end.

The four-hour session will begin with short presentations from the two facilitators, Mary Amato and John Feffer. Then we’ll shift to two hours of writing time. During that period, participants will meet one by one with the facilitators for feedback on their work. The session will end with small group meetings to share insights, experiences, and stories.

The Writing Day-Retreat will be held at the at the College Park Arts Exchange at Old Parish House, 4711 Knox Rd, College Park, MD 20740. The house is located within walking distance of the college park metro. Street parking is available for free.

Cost is $80.00

Bring: Your favorite writing utensils (laptop or pencil and paper, the work you’d like to focus on, as well as whatever snacks, drinks you enjoy to keep you going).
