College Park Arts Exchange celebrates Asian Pacific Islander Month with local artist Eileen Cave. Use mixed media to create colorful, whimsical art, inspired by nature and the unique artwork of Yayoi Kusama. Create shape templates and use common household objects as design resources, and optimize color contrasts and shading to create stunning effects. Watch a brief video about the “Queen of the Dots” whose inspiring life story includes her struggle with mental illness and using art as a coping therapy. These artistic techniques can offer relaxation and stress release, a treat to do with Mom!
A resident of the Gateway Arts District, Eileen is a teaching visual artist, grant writer and arts advocate who taught art in PGCPS for 16 years.
